by J K. on I went to Lavo recently on a Sunday night after hearing very positive reviews from my sister. I must say I was actually disapointed in Lavo. I arrived there around 8:00 on a Sunday night. The space is beautiful. Problem is there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. It was practically empty. I will say by 9:00 or so, it started to get more crowded but was very surprised by the lack of a crowd at 8:00. The space is really nice, the staff is very attentive, but the food was very average. Between 2 people, we split the caesar salad, the spaghetti with kobe meatballs and the chicken parm. The spaghetti with meatballs was $34. I make better meatballs at home honestly. There was barely any sauce on the spaghetti and seemed undercooked. The meatballs were so average. The chicken parm was ok, but really nothing great and nothing better than a chicken parm I can get at the local deli. The salad was ok. Probably the best part was the garlic bread that they serve you warm when you arrive. With a bottle of wine, the meal was about $150 and it was nothing spectacular at all. I will not be back and would not recommend. I would go there to hang at the bar and have a drink, but would skip the food.
by P L. on I had ups and downs about this place. Good times with friends and birthday parties. 5 dollar valet parking, and 10 dollar cover. Alcohol are LA price, AMF and LIT is 15 bucks, shots are 10 bucks. Been here many times, they play typical top 40 on Saturday nights. Good place to have a good time, just watch out for people throwing up lol. I never waited more than 15 min to get in and the bouncers are pretty cool.
by Dick Garzon on This place sucks... we got there around 11 and even though the club was basically empty.. they made everyone stand outside in a long line to try to give the impression that there's lots of people waiting to get into a packed club. Even though the decor is nice but I didn't really like the atmosphere.. felt more like a meat market than usual! Also while waiting in line, the place smelled like pee and there was an used condom right before the front doors. The security guard was also a punk who gave us attitude! The only good thingy about my experience was the go go dancers. They two girls were hot and made all the guys drool... so that was funny to watch in midst of my boredom! :) The music was good but I heard the drinks were very watered down. I guess I would've had more fun if I drank.. the parking was also bad... and it smelled outside of the club... probably wouldn't come here ever again!
