Apparently, this used to be a good place for her party, but certainly not anymore. The music was pretty bad, the drinks not good, and the crowd was douchy to the point that I'm still amused/horrified several weeks later.
by Kameelah R. on This place was fantastical! We took my cousin out for her birthday and had a wonderful time. Even though we were an hour late for our reservation, the host was still able to find us a table and seat us. The night we went there was a live band playing oldies and a DJ playing the radio hits. There was plenty of fun to be had by all!! ha ha so much fun in fact we helped ourselves to a few of the roses in the Starlight Room and security came over and told us the Flowers were for Decoration NOT Dancing! Hilarious!! Had we not watched a geriatric crew get arrested for fighting with security AND the police, we probably would have tested him for those Roses. Ha ha! The View here is amazing, and it really made me miss my City! The night we were there it wasn't foggy so you could see all of Union Square. I gotta get back to SF and out of Miami!
by Francisco Naraine on Cheap food, cold beer, and a clientele focused on the beer as a priority. Whenever I go to the Local, I always feel like it's the neighborhood pre-party for MJQ. There's an air of anticipation as everyone fuels up on beer and food to help them get through a long night down the street. Definitely give the barbecue a try, it's a pleasant surprise from a place that doesn't bill itself as a barbecue joint.
