by Michael Z. on I found out about this place because they are hosting Club Melodic on Wednesday nights. You buy your tickets online for $10. No big deal. i must say right off the bat that I generally don't like straight clubs because of all this guest list BS. At gay bars, you can dress however you want and get in. If places really want to make money, then they should not discriminate against someone's appearance. Anyhow, the club is okay. The way the space is divided is not the best. The lounging areas are a bit too prominent. The dancefloor is decent, but could be a little bigger. I really don't understand all the hype about this place. What's so eco about it? The bathrooms are way too small and I hate how places have people in the bathroom selling perfumes and candy and handing you paper towels. The bar is the worst. The drinks are WAY overpriced and the service is atrocious. This one bartender Mary is SO RUDE, to the point of psychological disorder. I asked for a glass of water and she said she would have to sell me a bottle of water. Ok, whatever. But she never came back to help me. Finally, another bartender came to ask what I needed and I told him I wanted water. The guy busted out a Fiji water for $5. Ok, big deal, despite how overpriced it was. I gave him five dollar coins (I thought taking the Metro was Eco; the vending machine gives you back dollar coins) and Mary must have thought I was giving him quarters and she blurts out "It's 5 dollars" and then takes the bottle out of the other bartender's hand and starts putting it back in the fridge. I make a face and then the dude shows her that they are dollar coins and not quarters. She then gives him back the water, turns away and makes no further eye contact with me. I flipped her off but she was so self-absorbed she didn't even notice. Her behavior was not only rude, but bizarre and indicative of some real psychiatric issues. I will only go back to this club for Club Melodic when my favorite DJs are playing. I don't plan on ordering drinks from Mary! And lastly, the make you charge a minimum of $25 if you use your credit card. That is not right! They are violating their agreement with Visa, MasterCard and American Express by setting a minimum purchase requirement. Merchants should NEVER set minimums or maximums on purchases.

Doesn't stop me but fuck, if I can't see the fucking show because you let ever douche in DURING THE TWO HOURS BETWEEN OPENER AND HEADLINER at least let me raise my fucking arm to get some shots of the show I'm missing and PAID TOO MUCH for! And $6 dollars for a Corona? Fuckin' A. Dump the Marina/FiDi attitude, it makes your ass look fat. -------------------------------------------------- --- Saw The Knife here last friday, so major props for getting them to come in from Sweden. They rarely perform live. Interesting location, in the alley, kinda hidden. A bit dark inside, but great feel. I loved the bathrooms because there were alot of stalls and the sinks were awesome. Good drinks to be had here for sure!
