by Maria A. on This is only a provisional review, I realize that I shouldn't judge a club by one particular night, and one set of DJs that I happened to dislike, so I will give King King one more chance in the future and amend my review accordingly. Last Friday at King King with great people, got there early, found free parking right next to it on a side street, went in with no hassle. The place was empty, and it never really got filled, there was always an overabundance of space, wich for a house music club isn't always the best dancing atmosphere. The first DJ was a girl (don't know her name) she was good! but there was no one dancing so I didn't get up and dance either. The next three DJs were not good at all, despite dropping some decent beats, the crowd kept on thinning at moments. If you see that there are only two people on the dancefloor, one of them being some strange bellydancing girl who looks drugged/possessed, then why don't you cater t your crowd and play something better? I ended up leaving early, as a house music lover I had great expectations for King King, and left very disappointed.
by Tiffany V. on The Good: - Free water - Nice view of Mission Bay - Relatively nice bouncers/security guards - Only $2 for coat check The Bad: - Lighting was weak - Located in the middle of bumfuck no where making it hard to get a cab - Got about 4 drinks spilled on me The Ugly: - Someone fell off the balcony and had blood coming out of his head at 2am. They still continued the event. - All the bathrooms were flooded! Shit and piss everywhere. - 2 inch long screws sticking out randomly from walls. So dangerous. BF totally cut up his back from it.
by Nestor Scheppe on Having gay friends I do visit gay bars. The Cinch is a dive bar for gay guys. The bathroom is a bit intersting though. I'm not sure if this is going to sound wrong, but the Cinch is a gay bar without being gay. $2 PBR until 8PM!!! Yes please.
