Yes, I'm a fan. I was in town for a conference and had a great time! Their Salsa classes were fun. I went on a Monday and they had a live band, Pacific Mambo, performing. The lady that sang had a great voice. What a treat for a Monday night!  So much fun that I returned on Saturday. So much fun and great crowd.

Pro's:  It's trendy Hollywood, dress nicely along with everyone else.  You may see cool celebrities like Sandra Bullock.  It's long and narrow and has space to move around. Con's:  It's douchy.  During one stay at Drai's, Paris Hilton was dancing on the pole...how old is she? I thought by now that would be out of her system.  Or you may see people drinking out of a bottle of Cristal like it's a Capri Sun. Conclusion: This is a trendy spot and worth a visit if you have friends in town that want to see Hollyweird at its finest.  Getting in comes with serious red tape so come prepared & come early...know someone that can get you in or unceremoniously tip doormen as needed.  One night, Flo Rida (guy who does the apple bottom jeans song) stood on tables & started singing, that was a cool moment.  Surely this club has had many surprisingly fun nights.  You can park across the street and not valet at the W Hotel... Side note about this place, the various restaurants and clubs within the W Hotel are under separate ownership, hence all the velvet ropes to funnel people to one location and avoid another.  Not that convenient but it is what it is.

I went to Trudy's with high expectations after it was recommended to me several times. Several friends and I went for dinner and drinks. They offered two types of salsa - green and red. We all thought the red salsa was delicious while the green one paled in comparison. The chips were mediocre and very crumbly. We were famished after a long day of floating the river so we devoured a few baskets (we were too embarrassed to ask the waitress to refill the chips a fourth time). We ordered guacamole and I was very disappointed that a place like this would use guacamole out of a bag - there was no texture and flavor. I ordered the tortilla soup, very fragrant but wish there was more avocado and corn. I recommend ordering a side of rice with the soup. The girls that got the tacos were happy with their selections. The mexican martinis were way deadlier than any of us had expected. We could have had one drink to two people and still worked up a good buzz. The food was alright but I'm sure I'll be back. I heard the stuffed avocado is delicious (and a splurge, so recommended to split with a friend).
