by kathleen s. on The interior is worth seeing. I think it really was an old parking garage. High glass ceilings that let the sun in. . . trees. . i mean really cool. Food is very good. I've had brunch and for dinner and i usually get the steak frites.Haven't been disappointed yet. Drinks on the roof are always a pleasure as well--very fun scene and cool location. TAke an ou-of-towner here after walking the high line.
by Man Kohut on The Good: *Great sound and good lighting! *Pretty good location. You can find parking at a decent distance *If you're hungry, Bowser's Pizza is located right next to it. The pizza crust is made with, I believe, cornmeal, so it is fluffy and kinda taste like cornbread. *bathrooms doesn't look old and unkept *other than the main dance floor there are seperate rooms for dancing and hanging out as well (i have never been here on a club night so I don't know) *if you can't attend a show, you can watch it online on http://dnalounge.com *they allow in-and-outs for folks to smoke, eat pizza, and/or hang out. *the club events usually run til 4 AM BAD: *drink prices are a ripoff * if you ever are going to watch a hip hop show here, I suggest you don't. The acts arrive hella late! For example, at MF DOOM's debut performance in SF, he came in around 1:20 AM, performed for 20 minutes and bounced. the crowd was getting really impatient (we were waiting for almost 2 hours and the Oakland Faders ran out of records to play), and his performance was a big letdown. Same thiing happened when I saw the GZA performed-- a short, underwhelming performance. you can probably contribute that to the promoters for not having a decent amount of opening acts. *the events that are held here can be a tossup, which all depends on the promoters.
