We had a great time, until the bill came. What they don't tell you is they charge you $7 am hour per person and charge 40% gratuity. Our server wasn't all that great and definitely didn't earn that much of a tip. 6 of us had one to two drinks only, no food, our bill came to an astounding $255. That is the soul reason I would not go back. Charging per hour per person is obscene.

The Majestic.  It is what it is.   You don't go there for the best meal of your life.  You don't necessarily even go there for a meal that tastes great sober.  You go for a meal you can eat right before heading to bed to ward off a hangover or right when you wake up to battle a hangover.  If you go there for any other reason, I would have to wonder about you...but I've heard weirder things so....  Anyway, I don't expect fast service or even good service but I've always had ok service.  I have also always left with a warm belly, usually a good story or two, some great eavesdropping (that goes both ways I am sure) and the confidence (true or false) that I will feel great when I wake up because of that magical order of hashbrowns.  The best in the city by far.  And THAT is why I go to the Majestic.

Really??? I'm  a bit underwhelmed. I heard the hype and it was of course, tres chic and hip but the lounge had about 200 patrons waiting and only two servers working. Not to mention that the tables are too tiny for the small portions and that your have to share your ice bucket (of very tasty and expensive cold sake) with about 5 other bottles of sparkling water, wine, and what not with however is around you. (Which of course means that your delicious cold sake is not just under room temperature... like your sushi). The sushi, was good though. Blue fin tuna.... hmmmm hard to go wrong there. Of course, the dinning room aside, just getting to a table is a challenge. The host / concierge told us "Two for the sushi bar? Of course, I can seat you right now." So we give up our seats at the lounge and mosey on over, except now it's "oh.... hmmm, we don't have room. i though we did. it'll be just a few minutes more." A few minutes more to most of the world means.... 5 - 10 minutes but here, it's more like 20 - 30. And as fate would have it, as we walk over to the sushi bar... NO ROOM!!! But the quick thinking hostess leading to the night's dinning delights manages to snag a small two top and plop us down for the night. This adventure aside, my friend and I has a wonderful time once seated. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and tepid sake and the rest of the evening.
