This review entails only the drink I had at Continental Midtown during a trip to Philly. Loved the Continental in Old City.  This one, not so much.  The uber-trendy decor didn't do it for me here.  What is with the hanging over-sized birdcage seats at the upper-level bar?  I felt as though they should have been in a diorama at the Academy of Natural Sciences displaying stuffed extinct birds.  Is drinking a caged event now?  Seats are not comfortable and just weird. Drinks not bad.  A bit pricey though.  Sullied by the spillage induced by a waitress without awareness of her surroundings who knocked my arm while I walked back to my cage.  That's grounds for a free drink in my book, but the offer was not extended and the waitress acted as though it were my fault. Not too impressed.  A haiku for Continental Midtown. In a cage, my drink costs more than an Eagles game. Fly to Old City.

Great little bar. A hidden gem. We had a great time. They had music on the weekends and enough TV's to watch all the games. The wings were AMAZING!! The best wings in the area (including The Nugget and The Pic!!)

I guess you could call me a regular here. I am a sucker for the sushi and Kelly has to be the most awesome bartender in the midtown area! Really, she rocks. A couple of pointers for this happening hot spot are to avoid the weekends unless you are a lover of wall to wall people and folks bumping your table while you try to enjoy dinner. To me, the best nights to go are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and maybe a Saturday or Sunday if you go for lunch. The Super Crunchee and Dragon (eel) are my favorite rolls. I tend to go solo so I often deny myself the spinach dip for fear that I might actually eat the whole bowl. The other dishes are satisfying as well. I like the burgers and the fries are nice and crispy. I wasn't too fond of the salad selection and haven't taken a taste of the desserts. Drink wise, try Lust, straight up. Nice concoction. The have some good mojitos too, that just might make you come back sooner than you think.
