For $10 how can you NOT go? Yes, this is for the older crowd, 21+. I like that, no kids running around. This is more of a place to chill and have a drink with friends. I see myself every Thursday with friends and meeting ladies. Yes, it gets packed, but still a lot of room to move around. Parking in the underground lot is $10. Normal fee here in S.F. Drinks, as always were expensive. They were serving top shelf liquor. I think this place is a great place to meet singles and mingle with friends. Dress to impress? Yea, some people were dressed nicely.

I went there for two events this past weekend - Wonder-full w/ Bobbito & DJ Spinna and then stuck around for the Nocturnal After Hours party.  It was two totally different crowds and I enjoyed both; everyone was friendly, happy, and dancing - all things that should make most people's nights. The sound system was good - a lot better than I'd expected.  The main room is a decent size (I think they said it's a 1200 person capacity) and there were 2 other rooms to check out, when you got bored of things being loud.  Good decor, clean (big improvement for when it was Grand Ave!), good patio area for smoking, and a good flow of traffic - never felt too crowded or rowdy. Overall I like the vibe of the place.  I think it shows promise and I'm thrilled to have a big club venue downtown.  It's a big club venue, but without any pretension.  People running the place are down to earth and seem to get it.  And thankfully (so far) the annoyances of  Hollywood seem to be staying in Hollywood. One major complaint though - the bartenders.  They're unprepared and slow, some were drunk and mistakenly thinking that cute compensates for capable.  WRONG.  They need to implement a better computer system (it crashed that night, leaving bartenders to have to manually compute on fingers  - oy vey), too few capable bartenders manning any of the four bars that I saw open, and just not able to handle a thirsty crowd.  If you're looking to get your drink on, I suggest ordering lots of shots on your first run to the bar.  Otherwise you'll lose your buzz waiting to be waited on. I think the crowd and Crash Mansion's popularity fully depend on what acts and parties they're able to book.  I hope they're able to get a good lineup going - I'd be excited to go back for sure.
