Good drinks, chips, and guac.  We came here after the Inman Park Festival.  It got the job done in that it has a cool vibe to it.  As mentioned the food wasn't the best, but they have great cheese dip and guacamole.  I probably would go back if I was in the area, but wouldn't make a special trip.  Service was really good.

Evocative of a different era and a continent half a world away, Amalia is graced with an artistic vision which blends Old World baroque elements such as custom hand-painted wall coverings, black Murano glass chandeliers and leather clad barrel-vaulted ceilings with urban touches like existing brick and stone wall surfaces and arches. Named after dream-meister Sigmund Freud's mother and aptly located adjacent to the Dream Hotel, Amalia is comprised of a series of richly decorated enclaves that seem to mirror man's emotional states--from dark and close to floating and airy. But it's executive chef Ivy Stark's new twists on Mediterranean fare that will put diners into a dreamlike state: Jumbo Shrimp Fideau with Sam Marzano tomatoes and smoked paprika allioli, and Lamb Osso Buco with barley risotto. Its dessert offerings are just as imaginative--try the Roast Bananas and Kataifi with frozen lemon yogurt and mandarin sesame caramel or the warmed Braeburn Apple and Pecan Crisp with urfa chili ice cream and calvados sabayon. Kudos to owner Greg Brier for crafting a dining experience that satisfies the aesthete on so many different levels. And located just a short walk from the Theatre District, Amalia is the perfect pre-theatre warm-up.
