Racism in West Hollywood?!?! I normally never post anything, but this cautionary tale had to be told: Upon the repeaded requests from an associate to come out with him to this place (4), I finally broke down and went after our earlier event fell through. I was with my wife, who is Swedish (I'm mixed, but most people precieve me as blk) and a guy friend who is black.  I was told to speak with a bouncer by the name of "Big C" at the back entrance and we would be taken care of with a little taxation.  Considering this place has no cover, I normally wouldn't resort to those measures, but was willing to drop some cash for the sake of the evening.  Right away I was told that there was nothing he could do for us as Thursday was some sort of special night of promotion and that we would have to speak with CP (head promoter) about getting in.  Normally, this is not a problem especially considering the place was not packed at all, there were no lines out front and I noticed people were not having trouble getting in. Right as we walked up to the front it became really apparent they had no intentions of letting us in and didn't even want to look me in the eye.  Just to prove this point, I took away all excuses for not letting us in.  I told them we wanted a table, 2 bottles (we only had three ppl) and would pay an entry fee (even though no one else was),  I was met with a casual walk away from CP or CJ or whatever that little douche bag's name was with no consideration for that offer.  He pointed to a girl with a clipboard who was taking orders.  She looked at me and promptly looked away as if we were not standing there.  I could have been standing there with a wad of cash and I beleive she would not have cared.  Who runs a business like this I wondered?  It was then that we noticed who was being let in (strickly short, dorky white guys, and white girls in mini skirts with no ass).  Sorry, but they didn't have any. I had to follow up on my assertion and circled back around to "Big C."  I asked him straight out, if there were black people or any minorities in there as I saw none going in or out on the patio.  He gave me a look like, "bruah, you know what it is," and just simply replied, "it's Hollywood."  I was like aren't we in West Hollywood?  That was the real shocking part about it.  Then I noticed there were police stationed right in front of the place and thought that was kind of odd for a bar in L.A. and even more odd to see that in West Hollywood.  They must get a lot of complaints from the community that quickly spiral out of control was the feeling I got.  Racism tends to do that to people. I would advise anyone who is not a racist to not patranize such a place and emplore all of the black bouncers to have some self respect and find employment elsewhere, at least on Thursdays.  Not all money is good money.  Understanding that most of the positive comments about this place are from white girls and guys should also clue you in as to their policies.  For me a "good looking crowd" means diversity, but I understand some people only wish to associate themselves with their own race. For those people, Voyeur is just the ticket.

Clubs outside of LA are weird. 1) Age range- 21-45? 2) Music- 80's, and Top 40s from the last three years? 3) Racially diverse 4) Everyone was taken 5) My friend told me that they messed up  her simple  drink order- 6) Yawn, this place is dead anyways.

Big windows in a great space located off a sidestreet, Poplar St., downtown. Situated next to a former nightclub and modeling agency which are long gone, Slice offers a relaxed, airy and open space to grab lunch or dinner in the heart of downtown. The food is, well, nothing special other than your typical pizza and pasta joint. The pizzas are a safe bet, my pasta was pathetic - about as good as I remember from my junior high cafeteria. For a quick bit of pizza, coke, in a nice, somewhat hidden space downtown with a smaller lunch crowd, go here.
