by Gwyn Gambrel on To be honest, I don't remember much about this place. A friend that invited me out, kept buying me shots of whisky. And if I told him I'd want something lighter, like a beer, he'd buy me a bottle of beer with a shot of whisky to chase it. It was a lot to handle especially with work the next day. I do remember the decor, something almost fitting of an Indiana Jones movie, an aged, amber hue to the walls. There was music and a lot of chit chatting going on. Anything past that is all a dizzying blur.

I read the reviews on rateclubs before I went and because of this I had really low expectations. I must say that I liked Eleven way more than I thought I would. I went with a couple of friends, and I was the only one that got carded (I'm tired of looking 18). We went a little before 10 so we didn't have to wait in any line, and the doorman was actually very nice. It was beautifully designed, and the lighting was soft and low (aside from the lasers at one point). The waiters were extremely handsome and well groomed men, which I'm sure was eye candy for West Hollywood's vast gay community. I didn't see any of the gold dressed cocktail waitresses as other reviewers mentioned, but I was upstairs almost the entire time. I had a cosmo, and it was probably the strongest cosmo known to man. It honestly tasted like pure vodka that had been mixed with a tiny drop of food coloring. I ended up switching my friend for her passionfruit mojito when the second round came. I was a bit confused when it came to the bathrooms. My friend and I went and I walked right past it at first because I saw men in there. Then, she told me that...it was unisex. I was mildly uncomfortable with pee-ing since (gasp) guys could possibly hear, but I was also filled with that childish sense of forbidden novelty that we all bury deep. My only con with this place would be that it is so expensive.
