by Jean S. on Friday night hasn't nothing of a cuban night... I was expecting in at least one of the rooms some Latin music... And the club was kindda empty... A weird rock/pop band in the middle stage... I'll give it a try anther time on a dedicated Latin night to check out this "Havana ambiance" ;-)
by Maryann Brletich on I came here for a friend's birthday party on a tuesday night. Suprisingly Icon was busy on a tuesday night. We got there a little late (12:30) and there was no line or cover. Inside was comfortable to walk around and there was plenty of room on the dance floor. After saying the hello's to our friends we went to grab some drinks which did not take long at all. The drinks were not too expensive and the jager was cold so I was happy. Walking back to the dance floor, we saw a guy, obviously drunk, stumbling on the dance floor by himself with a drink in his hand. We maneuver so he narrowly misses us while we were laughing at each other thinking, whoa, that was close. We continue to watch drunk guy for a couple minutes until he drops his glass on the dance floor, shattering the glass, spilling the near full drink in a 3 foot square. He proceeds to get up and sit at one of the tables across from the bar, laying his head on his arms, using them as a pillow. The spill was cleaned up and we started dancing again. The dj was playing hip hop, some old school, 2pac, biggie, snoop, dr. dre and a lot of newer stuff that you hear on KMEL and Wild 94.9. He was playing hip hop until about 1:30 then he switched to house, which ended my night of dancing (sorry I wasn't high enough to get into house). We then left and were harassed out front by a (homeless) person out front, asking for a dollar while wearing clean khakis and new shoes (at least look the part you're playing).I had a good time and I'll be back sometime in the near future.
