I pretty much always have a good time at this dirty, smoke-filled, alcohol-fueled dive venue. The standup/karaoke combo on Monday nights is particularly interesting, as its known to be the "hardest room" for comics in the city and people doing karaoke afterward get F-in serious. Somehow there is ALWAYS one extremely drunk guy at the Star Bar. Not a "kinda drunk" guy, or a "pretty drunk" guy, but THAT GUY who is somehow still standing for two hours even though he has to stop and lean against something and put his head in his hands every few minutes... you're always waiting for him to vomit, but he never does. Magical. Tip: Don't wear anything you can't easily wash that "Star Bar" smell out of.

Thursday at 10:30PM we suffered poor service and bad drinks at the busy main bar under sports screens at Busby's (formerly the Conga room). At the "Mile High Club" bar in the upstairs ballroom of Busby's, our bartender was better.  However, the sound engineer/DJ's repertoire choices were dissonant with the live entertainment.  Further, the sound design is poor. The best part about Busby's is its location, multiple rooms and capacity.  The best part about the Mile High Club space is that it can accommodate a large crowd comfortably, and it has a stage with lights. Incidentally, my video recordings turned out lovely, even though I don't like the interior design of Busby's.  Might make a good location to shoot visually, but not for audio recordings.

When I first came here I didn't really like it but I was back Saturday for a bachelorette party.. and fell down the stairs so I was back kind of drunk for a bachelorette party .... and when I say fall .. I mean slipped a bit because of the shoes... or the fact that gravity was not my friend Everyone was very nice the drag queens looked good the basement is still the basement no matter how many curtains you throw around I didn't eat so I cant vouch for the food three stars for really nice people and the fact that no one seemed to care that I fell down the stairs on a side note I still stayed out till 2 and maintained quite well
