Ive been to Kress twice now and have had fun both times I went.. The thing about this place is you have to show up a little bit later when the music is actually on point.  Once again my PIC (partner in crime) and I got in free because we know people.. lol... The drinks were strong but I'm not sure how much they were originally because they were freeeeee.. No more open bar.. We were there untilabout 245am, about halfway into the reggae session..   We had a blast and met some fun people.. The parking $$ are $15- $20 depending on where you go but it's Hollywood, if you're cheap stay home!! FYI though, if you park right next to the back entrance it's hell getting in and out, we parked across from the front entrance and walked a hundred yards or so.. As usual, judge a club for yourself, the reviews are other peoples opinions.. As for me, i'd definitely go back.. **Have a B-E-A-UTIFUL Day Cupcakes!!**

Very excited to go check this place out after it got good reviews from friends.   So I took the wife here on a saturday night.  I liked the ambiance, warm and cozy.  I also liked the kinda casual, hip atmosphere.  A lot of times high end restaurants are really quiet and stuffy.  Since this was our first time here, we went with the 14 course tasting menu. Chopped Salad- pretty good.  I liked the saltiness the bacon added to the salad to contrast with the creamy buttermilk dressing. Tuna Tartare- good but not great.  Thoght it needed some acid. Friend Green Tomatoes- one of my favorites.  Really good tomato flavor and crisp outer shell. Ravioli- kinda bland but I really liked the peas that went with the ravioli. Thai Snapper- kinda disappointing... not much flavor Wild Salmon- I liked the smoky flavor of the salmon.... otherwise very average. Skirt Steak- my favorite protein..... great flavor and nice medium rare. Filet mignon- just ok.... kind of disappointing Kobe Sliders- nice and tender.... good flavor.... a great burger.  Fries were also good. Cheese plate (2)- one good one not so good. Strawberry Shortcake- came with dried strawberries and also a marinated strawberry.  Very good flavor on this dessert.  Only gripe is that there weren't enough strawberries. Rhubarb gelee- excellent dessert. It also came with a side of naan with some kind of cheese dip.  The naan was very tasty. Overall, very average.  With all of the Michael Mina hype and the high prices I expected more.  Few of these plates stood out in my mind.  Usually when I have a tasting menu, there are always a few plates that I just rave about.  I really can't think of one plate here that I just thought was unbelievable.  I think its a really cool place to take a date if you are willing to spend some money.  But I would say that the food ain't worth the money.

Children of the Night!  You know who you are and you know what decade spawned us, at least in spirit. It was the decade of "Just-Say-No" and "Trickle down economics". On Thursday nights Cat Club remembers that time with their "1984" party, recreating one of the most prominent features of that time: "Us" and "Them". You see the front room plays music like Bobby Brown, McHammer, and probably Rick Astley and is populated with striped shirts, polo shirts, Izods, deck shoes, and non-ironic big hair. Populating the back room is "Them".  We are them.  Because our hearts thrill to the sounds of Skinny Puppy, Nitzer Ebb, Front 242, and lighter dark like Peter Murphy, Depeche Mode, synth pop Ministry, the Cure, and the Smiths.  And of course other electronica-fragile-heart sounds like Erasure, Information Society, Pet shop boys.  You remember, right? The backroom vibe is fun and welcoming in its nostalgic alienation, that somehow, 20 odd years later just doesn't feel as bad the first time round. A good night out to dance and oscillate wildly...
