Okay, so I've been to Mood twice and have mixed feelings. The first time I went was on a Wednesday and it was for some Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency event. My friend and I got there early and walked right in. We went to the back area and sat for a while- we were soon asked to move since we were not drinking nor did we order anything to eat- that back space was kinda cool- it was enclosed but I felt like we were outside- I think it must have been open because people were smoking back there. Anyway, we moved to the middle area where the dance floor is and by this point it was pretty packed. The DJ (DJ Crash) played really good music that night and we really enjoyed ourselves. My second time to Mood was last night with another friend of mine for the movie "Shoot 'Em Up" release party. Yet again we walked right in- but it was kinda weird for as we approached the club the girl at the front said "Hey, what are you guys doing tonight? Want to come in?" It made it seem like they were somewhat desperate for people to come in- I guess they just want to pack out their event. So she asked us if we would be eating dinner, we said yes, and she sat us in the front area that seemed elusive to me the last time (that's where all the models were sitting). Our waitress was nice and pretty prompt on most of our orders. We ordered some Chicken Satay and Beef Kobe Sliders- my pieces of chicken seemed a little cold but my friend didn't have any issues. The sliders were really good. If you're week of the stomach DON"T READ this next part. I was pretty disappointed when I glanced up to see, shinning in the beams of the fancy lighting a very large cockroach prancing across the beautiful hardwood floors. There was a man who had been taking pictures all night and when he saw the roach he ran over and crunched it. It was almost as big as his shoe! He and the DJ kept looking over at me- I'm sure they were worried I would complain- which I suppose I had every right to but I decided against it. All in all I think it's a cool place to hang out. I think the menu is slightly over priced- 15 for the satay and beef sliders- not a heck of a lot over priced but still. Also my corona was eight dollars when it should have been six. The cockroach thing isn't enough to make me not go back and realistically I probably will go back. Other things: Parking- Eh (what do you expect for Hollywood, right?) Decor: Beautiful People: Pretty good mix of trendy people Wait: No wait to get in Cover: No cover Damn this long ass review.
