Oh Cafe....Im sorry for always puking in your restrooms. If it wasnt for your weak drinks I wouldnt chug with my friends in the car before entering. Your music on Thursdays is fun but really, I dont care to see all the male dancers or the female ones. You guys should leave that space open for the regular club peeps to dance. This place is always sooo crowded that I can never get my dance on without someone elbowing me and getting all loco joto on my ass. I must admit that I hate coming here but I still go all the time. Viva la musica.

This place used to be my favorite dancing/live music/entertainment spot downtown but I went back for the Memorial weekend and it was terrible. The drinks there have always been bad AND overpriced since they are so bad.  But I used to be able to forget that fact when the burlesque shows came on (they have been gradually getting worse with girls looking more and more amateurish and not very pleasing to the eye).  Last weekend they didn't even have a burlesque show. They had 4 bands- I only remember 3 and they were pretty bad.  They kept getting worse instead of better ending with an electronica band that only had 3 members and no keyboardist.  The guitarist would fiddle with his mac before each song. Needless to say I won't go back.. The bartenders weren't even dressed up as usual. So sad..

To begin, my review will be a bit skewed since I went with my coworkers, and we didn't have to spend a dime! With that... I had a blast! This really puts 300 (Chelsea Piers Lanes) to shame! I never thought I'd go to a bowling alley nicer than 300, but this was definitely it. I felt like I was at a club! Every lane has a giant screen playing music videos, with comfortable couches and waiter service for your food and drinks. There are a couple of pool tables, and then there's a whole bar area. That's really the big difference between Lucky Strike and 300. The bar area is huge, it's really like a lounge in its own right. 300's lounge area is quite small. If you're a competitive bowler, and your going just to bowl, I'm sure you will find this place pretentious and extremely overpriced. I'm not really a bowler, I'm more of a "let's get drunk with friends, dance on top of tables and go crazy while bowling" person, so this definitely hit my spot. Even though I didn't pay, it is very pricey, but you really couldn't expect it to be cheap seeing the layout. Yes there is a dress code, but again this is a more high-end venue, so I understand why they expect more from you. If you're looking for a low-key night, this really isn't for you. If you want to get drunk, dance, be silly and price isn't really a problem, then you will love this place.
