by Victorina Zwiebel on when in doubt, go to third floor. that is, if you're korean. i'll skip the review about how good this place can be during peak hours or how detrimental it can also be after their 2 for 1 carbomb deals. but instead, i will review about their tuesday happy hour deal as well as their daily specials. tuesday happy hour deal is one of the best in the city: $16 (i think. unless it went up recently) for all you can eat (fried chicken & tonkatsu) and drink (beer & wine) from 5-8pm. of course, especially in the summer when college kids seem to take over ktown at all hours of the day, it's almost impossible to score a table unless you arrive at 5pm but if you can, it's definitely worth the loud noise, slow service, and endless beer & wine. people have complained a lot about their service but honestly, what do you expect when you see every single table filled to the max who all come at the same time and are all ordering the same food simultaneously? unless you'd like for them to pre-make the food and re-heat so that it can be delivered to your table in a timely manner, i don't see why there is a need for a complain. and considering that this is the case, they do a pretty good job catering to all the customers at the speed of light. their regular daily special is $10 for dinner and a drink. their dinner options, especially the kimchi doria, is AWESOME. it's baked kimchi fried rice topped with mozzarella cheese and you also have the option to choose bulgogi instead. so delicious and well worth $10!
by Lani Hayhurst on Used to be a big fan of this place before it became an East Bay refugee camp. Back in the day it was a truly local hip-hop club with cool ambiance and a massively drunk vibe, both things I appreciate. As of my last visit (more than 5 months ago) it was completely overrun by thugs, losers, and terrible doorstaff. They quietly implemented a rule where people in the waitlist have to be at the door by the cutoff time (vs. in line). The last few times I went there I saw several fights break out, prostitutes, & other things I'd rather not see at a nice club. If I had to break down positives I still give the venue props, the music is good, & the drink prices are only mildly unreasonable.
