by Megan R. on This is NOT a review of the resturant only the club/lounge area downstairs. I have been there a bunch of times on Fridays and Saturdays and have never seen anyone get charged. The music is pretty good and drinks are normally priced. It's the type of club you simply get lost in. Hot, Loud, Sweaty, Packed wall to wall no room to breath. I suggest pre-gaming.
by Quincy Jasper on I had a great meal at Zahav. Next time I go, I would definitely get one of the tasting options. I started off with a tasty drink - the Saz-Arak. A nice combo of bourbon and orange bitters among other things. We had the salatim and hummus platter, crispy sweet breads, fried cauliflower and a lamb and eggplant dish. While still delish, the lamb and eggplant dish was my least favorite mainly due to the mushy texture - but thats eggplant. Everything else was fantastic. Service was spot on, perfect level of attentiveness. The salatim totally reminds me of the banchan you get at the beginning of a traditional korean meal. mmmm. isreali kimchi. my meal was fairly light...and I am sure once I go back for a full meal I would upgrade to 5 stars.

A man sewing flossy ribbons of satin in and around his puckered meat flower... an angel in a wedding gown drenched in blood, belting out operatic hymns.... You never know what to expect from a restaurant whose reputation is coupled with performance art and a 3+(?) course meal? Not your hole-in-the-wall dive bar diversion. Coming from a food lover, occasional sadist and artist, this place puts the fork in my Bjork. pumps the juice into my Seuss, and comps the check like Lautrec. Food and women and dancing, oh my!
