Not to offend anyone, but people are not taking this place for what it is-- a date place/lounge. Seems like most of the bad reviews were written by people who are perpetually alone on Valentine's Day. In order to distract themselves from the tub of cake frosting they just ate they decided to complain about something. Maybe they should take a shower or buy a treadmill instead. This is a great place to take a date. Especially if you make reservations for a table. There's no extra cost to get a table, you get to sit on your own little couches, drink champagne and eat strawberrys and chocolate. If you want to get your date to make out with you, you don't take them to the Cheesecake Factory. Maybe that is why girls don't return your calls. Also, the music does not suck; it's not a club. It's a lounge-- you know, where people lounge, talk to each other, drink champage and wine-- not so much into beer bongs here. What a surprise, they play lounge music! Wow, who would have thought. Also, lounge music tends to assist in raising the date-turn-on factor. Not a good place for a rave or keg party, but a really romantic place to take a date (unless your date is watching their carbs).

GAMH rules.  I love live music and this is one of my favorite venues.  One of my favorite things about GAMH are the rumors about its history.  According to legend, the GAMH used to be a brothel and there are tunnels underground that allowed men to travel from the fancy hotels and city hall into the brothel without being seen.  I've been backstage at GAMH and this seems entirely plausible.  The backstage area is actually underneath the venue and it consists of a lot of little rooms that definitely might have been used for prostitution.  I hadn't heard the rumors about the tunnels at that point so I wasn't looking for them at the time.  But really, anything could be hidden in that rabbit den!  Has anyone else heard these rumors or better yet seen the tunnels? And don't forget  one of the other great things about GAMH- it's 3 doors down from Mitchell Brothers!
