by Stacy S. on Wow. Super cool Internet cafe meets bar. Fireplace and all. I love it. The bartender girl (the blonde one if shes still there) wasn't very nice, but other than that I love the atmosphere. Lots of people there are on laptops or seem to be having meetings with friends. It is next door to Academy of Art dorms, so I can tell there are lots of students here, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Students are fun too! I came during a weeknight, I'm SURE the weekends are WAY more packed. Pretty fun..Check it out!
by Ray K. on I came here after Love Parade/Fest/Evolution/etc etc and I definitely enjoyed myself. I like that the sound system has big bass bins aimed right at the dance floor, that's exactly what I want in a venue like this. Putting a little cotton in the ears and letting the sound system vibrate me while I dance is perfect, and they played a great selection. The door people were very nice to us, the bartenders are all friendly, and the place has enough real estate that it can accommodate a decent number of people without feeling packed.
by Berna T. on Rasselas holds a special place in my heart because I used to come and sing on Monday nights here - open mic with the Dee Spencer Trio. The crowd is always really friendly and very diverse, and the food's good, and the servers are always very nice.
by Barbie Rossmiller on Bimbo's with its maritime/mermaid theme and epauletted waitstaff, makes me feel like I'm on the indie rock Love Boat. For an 800ish capacity venue, the place feels intimate with great sound and good sightline from most places in the main room. If you don't feel like watching the openers, you can hide away in the cozy front room and converse with your date without yelling across the table. The ladies' room could be more accomodating, as the number of people far outnumbers the number of stalls. Make sure to have some change in your pocket for the bathroom attendant with the paper towels.
