Like everyone else says, no one from Philly actually consistently goes here. it's a tourist spot. The only time it's acceptable to go when you're actually from Philly is at 2am when you're drunk. The people are rude and the cheesesteaks are wayyy over priced. And btw not everyone from Philly talks like an idiot and doesn't know how to pronounce their "h" in with. The few times I've gone I make sure to accentuate the h when I've ordered...it always pissed them off. And like you've been reading, they're racist and have no issues telling the world that and their stances on political subjects with all the signs and posters they have up the most popular being "this is america order in english". Like honestly get over yourself Bill O'Riley  the world doesn't care what your stance is on the country's immigration policies...stick to what you're good at which is selling over priced mediocre cheesesteaks. Douchebags.

Another great addition to Inwood.  The Food is good, but a bit overpriced.  The wine list is not bad, but also overpriced.  There is a definite overtone of pretension and snobbery from the staff that turns me off to the place, but that may be just a cultural misunderstanding on my part.  The "sommelier" didn't seem to know that much about wine andt when he spoke to us about the bottle we ordered it felt like he was speaking down to us - that really turned me off. The atmosphere is probably the best part about this place.  It's nicely decorated and the clientle is very lively.  It really has an authentic Dominican feel - I think we were the only people in the place who were speaking English to each other.  On Tuesday nights they have a live flamenco dancer which really adds to the experience.  The outdoor seating area is a nice touch especially for Sunday morning brunch.  And I love that they decorated the trees out front with lights - that really adds something to our neighborhood. Brunch here is my favorite.  A tad bit expensive, but worth it for that special occasion.  All you can drink Mimosas, and the servers are very attentive to keeping your glass filled.

I have to say, I actually really like this restaurant's food, decor and service.  A group of us went to STK for dinner as part of a bachelorette weekend in nyc.  I picked this local when I learned Scarlett Johansson had been seen dining here at one point.  We never saw Scarlett, but we did feel like celebs. We had 9 o'clock reservations and were actually about 10 minutes late.  Being a pretty trendy place on a Saturday night, I was terrified that they would give away our table and we'd be forced to wait hours for a new one, ultimately ruining our friend's bachelorette party.  BUT that did not happen!  We were seated right away at a great table where we could see and be seen. Our server was polite and friendly and very competent.  The cocktails we ordered were terrible and I couldn't even drink mine (and I always finish my drinks!), but when the waitor noticed my beverage untouched, he took it away and removed it from the bill.  That is good service!  Go for wine. The food was delicious.  Although one would most likely go for a steak at STK, I opted for the braised ribs with mashed potatoes and celery salad.  It was out of this world.  Portions are small, but I felt satisfied. Later in the evening, the place turns somewhat into a dance club, with a DJ blasting some oldies but goodies (aka Bon Jovi, but hey, I'm from Jersey!), 30-somethings rockin' it in between tables, and a crowd at the bar mingling amongst themselves. STK is a bit pricey, but for a special occassion or fun night out, this is a great place to check out.
