by Ashley N. on It's so tough to write an accurate review on Hollywood clubs. The lifetime of a club alters so much due to the various phases it goes through before it eventually "dies" and is reborn into a new venue under a new name. I visited club mood after a Yamashiro dinner on my birthday. It was a red carpet event (I think it was a party for "Last Comic Standing") or something. Several comedians were there. All nice/friendly people, even the "big name" ones were surprisingly sweet people. Their presence and the fact that they were nice definitely contributed to the experience, but I felt the club was fairly fun independent of the *scene* aspect. Before we made our way to VIP, I was afraid the club would stay dead for the whole evening. However, I think I just arrived un-fashionably early (my fault). A little after ten, the music started up, the dance floor filled with dancers, photographers, etc. and there was a jovial "party" vibe shared by all :) The VIP section was not very impressive, however. The club was nice, fun, but a little pretentious. I think I just went when it was still a little bit newer and needed to tweak its image a bit...I'd definitely like to re-visit and see what it's like now, though!!
by Heather M. on I'm giving it one star as a sort of "A for effort". I heard so many good things about this place that when I visited over memorial day weekend it was on the top of my list. Their menu looked good, lots of options-I figured at least the drinks were going to be good... To make a VERY long story short, don't go here! It took two hours for me and my three friends to be served and get our food. We quickly ate our food which only lead to more disappointment as our orders were wrong and the food was mildly higher than inedible. Our waiter took forever, messed up our order and there was some annoying kid in a big party playing a flute. After waiting for my margarita for 30 minutes, that flute almost ended up in whole other than that kids mouth. (sorry, the experience was very annoying).
by Del Strayhorn on This is the go-to spot for young people in 20's to early 30's....sure, the guy with the white-powdered face and rouge lipstick wearing weird outfits might not let in some of the guys you're with, but it's totally worth going in even if you have to ditch them... they'll eventually get in if they wait long enough :)....music is hiphop/pop ... the only downside is that it gets too crowded sometimes...
