by Maria R. on I haven't tried dinner here, after hitting up another club in the area we came here on a Thursday night. The place wasn't empty but no where near overly-packed. The set-up and decor was pretty cool, I liked that there was a somewhat separated dining area and then the bar/clubbish area to the side, as well as the large buddhas everywhere. Drinks were regularly-priced and the bartenders were fast. Music was ok- it was all house/trance, which I like, however the selection they were playing wasn't the best. Wouldn't come here for an entire night out but I'd come back for a late night stop again.
by Rico Pok on Slide is the most inventive spa set in downtown's theater district. The sauna takes up half of the facility. To conserve electricity that would run the heaters, they rely on human energy. By failing to provide proper ventilation and playing about 3 different remixes of Gwen Stefani's latest annoying single, the bodies naturally increase in temperature. Girating, booty freaking, and the massage orgy eventually provides a steam bath from the profusion of sweat dripping down the silk shirts and halter tops. What's that you smell? The latest aromatherapy? I think they were using essential oils called "Of the Overly Gelled Scalp" with a hint of "Essence of Drippy Armpits". If you start to overexert yourself from the heat (a good sign is when your mascura is melting), step right up to their really swank bar! Yes, bar and sauna are a match made in heaven. "I'll have a Diet Coke," I ordered. "$4!" the spa-tender asked. Er... dang. That's a very expensive soda. And you know what? The soda water and syrup was the yuck. Back into the sauna I went, and started to experience swapping of essential oils. Ugh ugh ugh! I had to cool off in the bathroom. Ahh the first soothing relief of the night... no, I didn't dunk a deuce. It was finally cold and I had access to affordable refreshments! Although, I refrained from drinking water from the sink. I am a classy lady afterall. Be forewarned this chic spa is rather exclusive. Good looks, a wink to the bouncer... Oh and a vagina is your best ticket in. We had two kind, but naive, gentlemen who wanted to finagle in with our group of cute girls. Yes, the gold necklace, diamond earring may be a lil feminine, but it'd be a total cockblock if you wanted to be part of our group. They are a lil velvet rope-ish here so either sign up on their glist or bring a hoard of hooker-lookin' girls. Albeit, the hookers often come out looking like they did a train... yeah I went there.
