by Kim C. on The spelling of this restaurants name, really annoys me. They serve food til 2:30 am, which is great for late night delicious eats. They have a nice wine list, with a fair amount of "by the glass options." It was pretty packed last night, and it was a Thursday night, so I can't imagine a Friday or Saturday night. The space is definitely compact, but minimalist and avoids feeling cluttered. The bartender wasn't particularly quick, friendly or efficient. Our server, however, was great. The food was good, some of it was great . . . The rissotto was delicious, the hummus was very good, the fire roasted pork rivaled the gnocchi for my favorite menu item. The gnocchi may be the best that I have ever had. ever. All in all, I was pleased with my experience at Top Flr and will return.

I docked a star from Marquee because I didn't really like the music; I think they played too much super-mainstream stuff (lame remixes of SexyBack, lots of 80s bar music) and not enough house or... anything else. Other than that, though, I had a good time. I can't say too much about the attractiveness of the crowd (it's so damn dark, and I'm drunk, and so everyone basically looks the same -- how do you people manage to do it?), but if you're that preoccupied with how good-looking the people are at the places you frequent, I think it's time to sit down and take a long, hard look at your life. I liked the two dance floors and the fact that the sound systems dealt so well with two songs being played at once while the speakers were just 25 yards apart. The bartenders were quick; the drinks were pretty standard. The bathroom was small but doable. We didn't get a table on the Tuesday on which I went, but I noticed a lot of the tables were placed in really annoying locations (a la Cain) but others were really premium. It should also be noted that the girls I was with kept getting hit on by skeevy older dudes, but I guess that comes with the territory (however, it never happened at Cielo, which is another reason Cielo gets 5 stars instead of 4). We had three guys and four girls in our group and we arrived at 12:30. Only had to wait about five minutes to get in. Don't be 100% guys, and be well-dressed, and be cordial, and you shouldn't have much of a problem.
