Walking into this dimly lit and chandelier filled restaurant, I first thought, "Oh great, another overpriced taco spot." After approaching the menu on the wall a few seconds later, I realized I was wrong. Everything is well below $10 and for about $14 total, we were both full. If I lived down the street from this place, I would gain a good amount of weight because I'd likely dine here 3-4 times a week. The Pescado, baja style fish tacos "Nick's Way" are so far the best thing on the 7x7 list. The fish is deep fried in batter than placed in a semi-crispy tortilla with cabbage, some type of sauce and topped with guacamole, jack cheese and a squeeze of lime. I was even surprised to find Elote (grilled corn on the cob with butter, fresh grated cheese and chili powder) on the menu. Ever since I first tried Elote at Cafe Habana in NY, I've been searching long and hard for a place in the Bay Area to fulfill that craving. So glad to have found it here! I seriously left my heart at Nick's Crispy Tacos. I walked out that door immediately feeling withdrawals. During my meal, I almost bought more tacos even though I was already stuffed. Another plus about this place, it's connected to a bar/ nightclub (was once called Rouge, not sure if it still is) so once you're done ordering your food, you can take your number to your table and grab a cocktail or beer while you're waiting and check out whatevers showing on one of the flat screens. Verdict: Soooooo good. I'm dying to go back - NOW.

I love Salsa Night at S.O.B. on Fridays!  Azucar!!  There's a  salsa band playing live music all night, so you can dance away the night to the fun Latin music! If you come here before 7pm, ladies get in for free! And there' s a free salsa lesson from 7-8pm. My friends who showed up around 10pm had to pay $25 to get in, so if you want to save $$$, come here early! So why only 3 stars? Because the dance floor is too small and there's a mandatory entree order per person if you want to sit at the table(ofcourse we do!), and even if you order a food, they would let you have your table for only about an hour or so. Very not cool! Food was ok, I had churrasco (about $25) which was not bad but definitely not outstanding..... I much prefer Mi Bandera or Cafe Cortadito for great churrasco!!! Drinks here are expensive too, minus 2 stars! Overall, I always have a great fun night here despite these minuses so I recommend this place if you love salsa.  I definitely wanna check out Bhangra Night next time!!!

The first time I came here was for T's birthday. I never heard of this place before until T's invite.   So I told J to come with me to this party. So J and I went to this party together and hung out with T and her friends.  I didn't expect this place to be filled with Asians, since that's not T's style.  But this place was an Asian Invasion - but whatever I am there for T and not for anyone else. J again is such a laid back dude but can be very violent when he's drunk. He kept sneaking off to the restroom to smoke.  The bathroom attendant kept on asking him to stop smoking.  Meanwhile, T and I kept on going to the bathroom together several times throughout the night.  Since I was sick from the alcohol and T was taking care of me. There is such a long line for the restroom since it is coed.  The line is right by the bar, so it could be a bit annoying and troublesome. They have this belly dancer that comes out and performs - eh, that didn't really appeal to me much. In the midst of everything - the bathroom attendant guy points to me and here comes the bouncer and I was like oh crap am I going to get kicked out? Instead the bouncer goes up to J and tells me he need to get out.  He's like that dude asked you repeatedly to stop smoking but you didn't - so now you have to get out. Since I went there with him, I naturally left with him as well. I didn't even get to say goodbye to T - since the bouncer was not playing with J. I went here another time with J and again he was drunk so he was trying to start fights with other guys there. I am not really into this place but the reason why I came here is to get away from the lounge next door.
