I have a love/hate for this bar/dance club. It's great when it's not asian night. I like diversity. Each time I've visited this spot they always had a DJ spinning in both room.Bar tenders are super nice and super hot- I've received my share of free drinks from them. I remember a bar tender asked me how dirty I wanted my "dirty martini" and when I replied "extra dirty" he chuckled and winked. C'mon, tell me that's not sexy!!! lol Pros (love): -two smoking areas -decent size dance floor -2 1/2 bar area (2 full bars and a mini stand in the largest smoking area) -they have an ELEVATOR to take down the drunk people who obviously wouldn't be able to walk down the stairs (me being guilty lol -good looking bar tenders - they will rsvp for any size parties Cons(hate): -occasional creepy guys by the bar areas -stairs - $10 cover fee after 10pm -drinks aren't that strong -no eye candy other than the bar tenders Quick Tip: Valet parking out back for $5

Ha!  Did someone really give a negative review because they didn't like the food???   Did they ding Rubicon because of the music that was playing? For the record, Cafe du Nord is a live music venue.  Not a restaurant.  It has a bar, occasionally two on busier nights, a pool table, and luxuriously dark walls.  Vintage posters adorn the walls and the whole establishment glows with a 20s charm.  And yes, it houses one of the best small stages in the City As a performer, there are few places I'd rather play in town.  The green room is too small to hang out, which means bands mingle with the crowds, a total bonus.  There is ample room for merch in the hall just outside the stage.  The only con is the lack of an elevator and about thirty narrow steps that are not fun navigating with a drumset or a bass cab in tow.  In a different world, the du Nord would be considered disabled-person friendly. Clubs like Cafe du Nord are the reason why I never go to festivals, or bother with venues like the Shoreline.  It's a top notch venue to see nationally touring acts and really feel like you're participating in the experience.

I'll have a pricey heart attack with cheese please. And a yoo-hoo tasting milkshake. And can ya bring it to the car? I don't want no trouble from the gun slinging K-9 unit officer in the bullet proof vest. Thanx. (True Story).
