by Amanda W. on Dante's is where the hubby and I went to celebrate me finally getting a job after moving to Atlanta (I'm now an engineer for a concrete company). I heard about Dante's through a friend of mine and had been wanting to go for quite some time. I've had better fondue at places like The Melting Pot. But then again I also prefer to cook my meat in broth versus oil. Mostly because I'm scared that somehow my clumsy ass is going to get scalding oil all over myself. But it also leaves the meat a bit greasy. And luckily too it's kind of dark inside so you can't see the oil spatters on the walls in the booths. However, the atmosphere at Dante's is where it's at. There's so much to see. My favorite part are the peeping toms painted on the windows in the ladies bathroom and the pterodactyls painted on the walls. Because somehow pirates and pterodactyls go together. The honky jazz band is surpisingly good and I don't even like honky jazz. It just sucks that if you do want to sit on the pirate ship (which everyone does), you have to pay extra money to hear the band. And they can be a bit loud too. The floors are also a bit slippery too. I don't walk well in high heels to begin with, but it was extra difficult with the slippery floors, steps, and waiters carrying hot vats of oil.
by Ethelyn Bascom on I recently went the for Bassnectar's release party, and it was amazing though really crowded. like other places look at their website and make sure you know what is happening there, otherwise you might wind up at a Industrial party. Also now that remedy is back there, all the dancers have come back as well, and this party feels more at home here than at Ruby Skye.
