It's been a couple weeks since I've been here, but I'll try to recall my experience to the best of my abilities. I went to this place for a team dinner with about 10 other people. The place had a pretty chill feel to it, it's definitely more of a place to eat with friends and/or to grab some drinks as it can get quite noisy. A darker ambient setting like most restaurants these days and aside from the dining area, there was a bar area with TV's showing sports. The menu probably isn't anything unique -- you have your steaks and seafood, but you do have about half the menu for sushi. The table had calamari as an appetizer and it wasn't bad. For dinner I had swordfish topped with some shrimp and shared an order of their dragon roll. From what I have heard about swordfish, I was expecting the fish to be dry, but it wasn't bad! Not as moist as other fishes and still tender. My coworker kept telling us to not order the sushi so I wasn't really sure what to expect, but I think it was alright. Although, I did feel that the rice was too mushed together (to the point where you can't see the grains anymore), but there are probably better places to have sushi in Atlanta. And now onto dessert.. I had the key lime pie which I thought was good, not too sweet or tart and fluffy. But what you must try is their bread pudding.. now that was delicious! Be mindful that it could probably feed two people, but hey, there's always the doggy bag. :D Anyhow, I am willing to come back to try other things on the menu. Hope you enjoy the place and review. :)

So, some friends and I decided to brunch one Sunday a few weeks back.  After a hilarious (in hindsight) gaffe involving the Four Seasons Hotel (who knew brunch could be nearly $100 a person?), we took an unintended walking tour of Philly  until we settled on chowing down at the Continental Midtown. We were certainly hungry once we finally ensconced ourselves in a funky, retro booth, and the brunch menu had lots of tasty delights to tempt us.  We started with an appetizer of the lobster mac & cheese (delicious) and some Mimosas (also good).  There was a good balance of breakfast and lunch options to choose from, so none of us had a hard time finding something to suit our individual appetites.  I opted for a waffle served with yummy vanilla butter.  My companions ordered a variety of different dishes (I can't remember what they were), but they were all equally pleased with their choices. For dessert, I tried the creme brulee (I've had better, but it was still good).  The desserts at the Continental Midtown are really fun because they're small, like dessert tapas.  So you can get several if you want and share with friends.  We were also given these little fruit smoothie-like concoctions to drink with our dessert that were nice and refreshing (and this is coming from someone who doesn't like smoothies).  I don't remember what they were called, but I'm sure a server would know what you're talking about if you ask for some.  Our waitress told us that the flavors rotate every week, which can be good or bad (depending on whether or not you get attached to a particular flavor). The only drawback to eating here is that it's LOUD.  The music is pumping, and there are usually lots of diners adding to the din.  But the food and the decor make up for it, in my opinion.  I love the kitschy design of the tables, chairs, booths, and lighting.  There's also a rather roomy upstairs, so there's typically plenty of seating available.  I personally can't wait to get back here to try their other menus as well.

So I went there on a vendor's tab. That makes me have the "comp attitude" as in : very hard to please. You'd think it would be the other way around- but ask any theater person. For about thirty minutes we drank AMAZING mixed cocktails, and watched a naked-almost-(flesh colord thong) spin around in a tank of water. My friend thought the performer was pointing his a**crack in his direction the entire time- I was about to make fun of him until it swung around to me. I know this is cruel and mean to say about the performers, but it was all so SERIOUS and THOUGHTFUL and lost on us drunk people. The trapeze artist was fun to watch and at least there was some levity. But trapped on a white bed- causing me anxiety that my period would strike at any momet- watching bad art does not equate good time. There's a very odd vibe of stripper place there too. A lingerie party was going on in the private booth. We encountered strippers, who were hustling us for business, outside (they were coming in). Our waitress wanted every opportunity to show us her tiny rack. It was all just very like, co-ed schmoozy Vega$$ goes Art School 101. Hmm. I'm so mean. The food was mediocre or tasteless. I have never had worst peking duck. The lobster bisque was too creamy (yes, there is a too creamy). I managed to just drink, and that was a good idea. Friends were going to make a reservatio the other night, and I dissuaded them and told them to just get drunk. So not to be a total pisser- if they read this and want to improve, I'd say, tone down the sex stuff until later in the evening, more trapeze artist, less boring DJ guy who made us want to go to sleep, more masseuse. More attractions for women too- I felt under served, like the guys had all the eye candy!
