by Bo Mckellar on What a douchebag club. The people are effin' idiots. Seriously. Okay, I don't know about ALL OF THEM, but the ones that were around me were all idiots. I was surrounded by men and women who looked like they were in their late 30s (at the youngest) and they were all dancing like idiots, doing their damn "Shakey Shakey Dance" as my friends Hana and Lisa call it. It's just mortifying. Look, I have NO problem with people in their 30s going to clubs. Hell, I'm 30. But don't act like a fucking moron. I almost gave it two stars, but they did have a great sound system in there. I was only partially deaf even though we were RIGHT by the speakers. (I'm totally not even being sarcastic here!!!) Also, Stanton Warriors played a bangin' set. And pre-sale tickets were only $15. So, other than the idiots, I didn't really like the way the stage was set up so high. If you're in the front, you can't see crap. Parking is expensive. We found parking at another lot... It was a bit of a walk, but not that far. And we saved 30 bucks. Anyway, I would only go back if there was someone REALLY great there.
by Andrew G. on Kick Ass. There are now officially more amazing venues in San Francisco than I can shake a stick at. I thought the Fillmore and Bimbo's were amazing enough, but this place takes the cake. I love the decor and I can't imagine who would not like it. The sound was good from the floor, but I can't vouch for the balcony. I know you can order a dinner ticket for 24.95 more and that guarantees you a seat which is kinda cool, but I'm not sure I'd want to watch a whole show from the balcony. Use the upstairs bathroom because downstairs there is just one single room for men and women. Also, they schedule a lot of good indie music.
