by Jennifer W. on My BFF and I decide to go all out for our 27th birthday. So she suggested La Vida in Hollywood. We had a large group of over 40 people, not to mention the other friends that met us at the club. Our total that we spent at this place was week over $2000. At first everything was fine, we got into the club without waiting, they even let me take our birthday cake into the facility and promised to bring it out at 12am. We had a corner table in the back of the club next to the DJ. It was like our own little private party. Well one thing that they do not tell you is that they have a NO PUKING POLICY in force. Yet it is not posted anywhere in the club or in the restroom. One of my cousin wasn't feeling well so she threw up in the restroom, after she hugged the toilet for 2 mins, she was ready to go. To our surprise there was 3 bouncers waiting for us right when we got out of the ladies room. They immediately told us that she had to go and grabbed her arm. I quickly told the bouncers that we just arrived at the club 10 mins ago. He stated that there was a no throw up policy. I then told him, that was crazy and I needed to speak to the manager. HAHA I never knew that Bouncers can also be the manager as he stated he was the manager. I told him that he was not the manager and I am not stupid, I demanded for the owner of the club and I spent alot of money to throw my party here to only get kicked out within 10mins of being there. He then told me to "ACT LIKE A LADY" seriously this guy must have some machizmo issues or something. Who the hell does he think he is telling me how to act like a lady? I probably make more omney than this egotistic moron. The owner finally came out and said they'll give my cousin the benefit of the doubt and let her catch some air for 30mins outside. 30 mins passed and I was trying to follow up on the whereabouts of my cousin and no one would help. The egotistic OWNER just ignored me and looked at me like I was a pile of shit. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE!!!! They never brought my cake out, but my cousin was able to get back in. The bouncers are more aggresive and violent than the drunk people there. This place is crowded. I will never spend my money at this club ever again and I will make sure that I tell all of my friends to never come back to this club ever again. They are rude, over priced, and have no customer service. I will definitely make sure I go to BBB and everyone else I need to speak to about my experience.
by Lynn Evangelista on I love to go to comedy clubs but I think I'll stick to the Improv in Irvine. This one was a bit small. The drinks weren't made that well either. I was a bit disappointed with the pre new years eve show they had this year was funny, but should have had less comedians, with longer sets. Although I guess if they were bad, then you're glad that their time was cut short. haha. The staff and people that went were really nice and it was easy to find parking being that most people were traveling for the holiday so definitely great time to hit up the hollywood area. I would go back if the next time one of my favorite comedians was headlining. Oh well, there's always next time!
