Went there yesterday evening (New Year's Day) and figured that maybe the inadequate service and medium burgers coming out charred was just on account of being there on a bad day. I mean, who really wants to work on 1/1 anyways? I went there with a fairly large group considering the space, my party was seven people - all of which ordered a burger aside from one po'boy sandwich. And of those 6 burgers, 3 of them were the Kelly's Burger - and I'm pretty sure they were all requested as medium. Not sure what part a charred-tasting extra-well done patty is considered medium, but mine was most definitely not medium. The fries that accompanied it also appeared to have been diced, perhaps I just got the shaft with bottom of the bag crumbs or something. The fries were also seasoned, which was great but probably bad for some as I don't think I saw any indication that they'd be as such on the menu. The food not living up to my expectations could have been forgivable if the service had been better. Our waitress ran back and forth without so much even asking out of courtesy as my group of friends grew thirsty with empty water glasses. It's not like the place is huge or anything either. There's what, 6 or 7 tables max? Willing to give the place another shot on account of having a good beer selection and the hopeful promise that if done right, their burger could quite possibly be one of the best. But for now, 3 stars is probably too generous and forgiving.
by Ann Wamsley on I have to give them 5 stars for returning my lost wallet! This place is super LOUD but very cool. I have only been after work and could tell that it was going to get really crazy as the night went on. Drinks are standard, did not have food. Must go to hang out with the Budda!
