Located on the University of Pennsylvania's campus, this is a Stephen Starr-designed restaurant, and hence, more attention was paid to making the experience overall. Pods with color-changing buttons (to adjust the colors of the lights in the pod) are available for groups (make sure to call and reserve to get them). Bathrooms here are the glass-door, micro-bathrooms, nice, usually clean. Staff are dressed in particular uniforms, paying attention to those who are the staff whom you order from, clean your tables, and serve you drinks are all a bit different, and the hostesses at the door usually are dressed a-kin to fashionable business bouncers. A bar space with red-plastic cushioned seats serves decent drinks, although the space is perhaps more interesting than the drinks are strong. The moving sushi bar isn't bad, although the selection can be a bit repetitive - ask the chefs if you want something specific (pay by plate color). The regular dishes aren't bad, most of them Asian-fusion related, including dishes like the pineapple and ham fried rice and the deep fried crab. Noodles were probably the best dishes, and the duck had a lukewarm reception at the table. You can valet park at the hotel or in a garage at 38th & Walnut.

I came here for a big mixers party and after reading the reviews yesterday before going I was wondering if I got myself in over my head.  Maybe because there were lots of people there to chat with it was a little better.  But I must agree with one of  my fellow patrons last night, this place screams 90s prom.  I do agree with previous rateclubsers, the dance floor is way too small.  But there was something about the layout of the place that was nice.  I think it's a little more loungey than the typical club.

Monday night and this place is bumpin! Cielo was a bit grungier than my normal preferences... but the DJ was good and the crowd was diverse. From the crazy hippie chicks, to the suits, to the starving students... with so much variety, I didn't know what to do with myself. The do have hefty covers, but thankfully Spain took care of that. Overall, JC made it fun ;)
