by Martim G. on Loved it. I told my girlfriend about this place a year ago and have been badgering her about going ever since. She said she didn't like fondue and that when she went to the Melting Pot they poured Milwaukee's Best into the cheese. I assured her that this place was not going to pour 'beast' into her fondue and so last week she finally agreed to go. Dante's is located behind what looks like a house over in Buckhead. Walking up to the place was an experience unto itself; seeing the grave of Dante's old reptilian friend and various nautical shenanigans barely prepared me for what's inside. Wow, a ship? A moat? A wharf? A live jazz band? A live alligator? Forgetting you're in Atlanta for a few hours: priceless. The staff was really friendly, taking us on a tour of the place before we decided where to sit. Then we changed our minds and they were more than accommodating in moving us somewhere else. Ok, the food: awesome. We got the special, which was a cheese fondue and a mandarin fondue. It also included a bottle of wine and cost $75 or so for two people. Not cheap but considering the food, the place and the service, it was $75 well spent. Oh, and there's a $7 cover per person if you want to sit in the ship (where the jazz band is). So everything was great, they band even played a song that the woman I was sitting across from the entire night and whose food I was paying for had requested. So, in conclusion, Dante's is an awesome place. I'll definitely go back as soon as I have another wad of cash to spend on some fondue and nautical jazz. It's a good place to go on a date if you and your date are both fun people who want to dine in a place that looks like the set from 'Hook'.
by Tiffany U. on Overrated! I've been here twice and both times I left slightly disappointed. The crowd is a little more mature than I prefer and a little too ghetto-fab for me -- if you know what I mean. Here's the ironic part tho, with ghetto-fab people shouldn't the music match? Nope. Instead in every room they opted to play trance. Now I realize that trance is the "new" thing but shouldn't it at least be music we are at least familiar with?!! The last straw is when I left my debit card (which is my bad) but doesn't mean I should see $100 worth of unauthorized charges on it! The sad part is, I KNOW I left it at the bar... Sorry Highlands but looks like Hollywood swingin' just isn't my style!
by Shelby Surguy on BEST AQUARIUM EVER. They have tons of touch pools and so many different exhibits. It's amazing. I could spend days and days here and still not get bored. Ride the little travelator through the whale shark exhibit. Check out the beluga whales. Stick your arm into a touch pool until you're shoulder-deep to touch some fish and stingrays. Have a blast. If you're in Atlanta, you simply must go here, end of story.
