This was pretty much the worst Mexican food I've had in a long time.  When I go to a Mexican restaurant, its because I'm expecting delicious enchiladas with perfectly seasoned sides of rice and beans.  I'm not expecting my food to taste like dirt. On to the next problem:   With a name like Margarita Jones you'd expect their speciality to be Margaritas riiight.....WRONG!  Don't order the house margarita.  It was absolutely disgusting.   I think I could probably make a better margarita than the tequila lime and water they served me. Besides from that this supposedly Mexican restaurant was just all wrong.  The atmosphere was not Mexican at all.  It's like they tried to bring in the theme a little bit and that decided it would be better to make it look like Sizzler or something. The bar which we had hoped to be seated at to watch the World Cup was an immediate turn off as it smelled repulsive in there. Have they ever heard of air freshner.  It was noon and already smelled like a dive bar at 2:00am. Finally the service: HORRIBLE!  And its not like the restaurant was packed.  There were only a few tables so there was absolutely no excuse! Trust me, skip Margarita Jones.  You will be extremely disappointed.  What a waste of $35.

Hear ye: Bruno's has a new kitchen crew! I know, but trust me. It's good. It's the folks from Broken Record. I dont know about Bruno's (the Club), but Bruno's (the restaurant, ie pre-10p), is completely worth a visit. And frankly, it's a nice option in the area, offering something different from burritos and more casual than Foreign Cinema or Range or Mavericks or etc in that close vicinity. The food was good -- far better than I wouldve expected from Brunos Of The Past -- and didnt shock the wallet. A generous oyster po'boy for $8? Im totally down. Brussel sprouts were delicious. Heard the pulled pork sandwich was also a delicious steal. Ive been 3 times. Im sure that won't be the last. The trick here, you see, is you have to go BEFORE 10p. Because that's when the guys with leather blazer jackets start to file in. Yeesh.

Grab a drink at the bar, make your way around the dance floor, and cool off from the excitement on the tropical deck... but i dunno why lava and cosmo is separated ... lava-cosmo combo is 2 in 1 ;)
