by chris b. on I think this was my first time going to a club on "Asian" night. I didn't actually see any signs saying it was officially an "Asian" night, I just noticed everyone there was "Asian." It was cool though, everyone was cool with me even though I am only half "Asian". Anyway, I thought this place was pretty rockin'. But I never went upstairs, and I didn't even notice the decor much or that it was actually supposed to resemble a real house. I don't really think this place is any different than any other upscale LA club. It did have more of a Vegas feel inside though so props there and the people (said "Asians") really came to party and have a great time. Second thing I'll say about this place: There are a lot of stairs and steps in this place and they are not marked at all given how effing dark this place is. Can you spell pending litigation???? Let me just say that on a normal night, girls be trippin', but on this night I saw like mad girls straight trippin'! My biggest dissappointment is not ever seeing the $5 structure next door because I dropped $20 on parking. I am such an idiot. Getting back to "Asian" night, I kinda seek out the LA scene because it's more diverse than the OC, so "Asian" night was kind of one-dimensional and dissappointing in that sence. They shouldn't have "Asian" night or "White" or "Black" night. We should all just party together in the dark and get to know each other and see how cool the babies look when they come out after all is said and done. As with any scene, you better come to party, get there early, pre-drink, and GET ON THE GUESTLIST or be someone famous.
by Mike S. on The Greatest Bar isn't so great, but it's certainly mediocre. It has a very nice layout. The staff are pleasant and the drinks are ever flowing. Food is decent but the place is very crowded. Not worth it really. I'd rather trek up to the Red Hat in Scullay Square.
by Aurelio Turello on I have to preface this review with the fact that the only times I really go to this place is after a nice night of drinks at the Local. Now that I got that out of the way... I was there last night. We saw the usual cast of characters... other patrons on a pit stop before going home, college kids, and other night owls. My usual here consists of the following: [1] Double order of hash browns - well done [1] Side order of sausage patties [1] Wheat toast The food isn't great, but at 2am, it sure sounds great! Pair that with a few friends and you have a nice way to end your evening. *Short story - I order the double hash browns last night and was immediately informed by the waiter that it would be too much... "Don't challenge me at 2am!" I thought. After the plates came out, I thought I made a mistake. It was looking way larger than normal. I don't know if that was a challenge on the waiters part, maybe he thought he would teach me a lesson. Well I prevailed... I devoured the whole thing, and I have friends to prove it.
