by Corey V. on I first went here about five years ago to see Mark Farina. I'm not a fan, but the people I knew at the time where so there I am in a hot box of sweaty bodies and my ears hurt. Fast forward to this past Saturday and I walk in for Soul Slam. The place has changed drastically. Much more polished and cooler. VIP tables abound (don't even get me going on how much I hate that every bar and club in town is lined with these money making power thrones. I'm hating because I'm poor. If I had money I'd get one everywhere I go.) and this time I'm going to see a DJ I actually want to see. Better music, better friends, better crowd and thus much better experience.
by David H. on This place is good if you are looking forward to spend a good time with your besties and enjoy the music that hits the radio. Ok - So, my night started at 9:30pm when my friend called me up and told me to be @ the club around 10:30pm which I did, but the place was even closed and they doorman told me that the place was happening after 11pm. So called my friend to ask him where the heck he was and he and his friends assured to be there around 11:00pm so I had 30 mins to either have a shit chat with the doorman or go to the place next door that was opened. Of course, I decided to hit the place next door and maybe get a couple drinks and shit chat with some people instead. So, I walked into the place and it was pretty empty - However I looked at the name of the place and it was named Cherry POP or something like that. I thought it was kinda girly name for a club - I didn't mind and kept walking towards the bar, ordered a few drinks and started realizing that I was in a gay club with a drag queen next to me and everything. WTF? how I ended in a gay club? Well here is the answer "West Hollywood" I sent back one of the drinks and I waited for my friends outside apple.
by Darleen Hovi on I have finally found the mecca of my slumming around, dive bar looking fun! This is what you think of when you think of going to a dive bar. Now I know you are afraid that it might be a little bridge and tunnel, but we can't keep everything to ourselves. Just get ready to drink some cold draft beers, nice cocktails and to be blasted with a crowded bar full of people! But it is fun! I am telling you this.
