Star: 3.5/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Entertainment: 4/5 Food: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Came here with the BF for DAT on a Wednesday and it was packed! Definitely make reservation if you wanna eat and watch transgenders perform while you eat! In retrospect, DAT was $35, and their regular priced menu was $39. Not much saving. We ordered: App: Stead Salad: Pretty good. I like the basil in my salad Tuna Sashimi: Eh, they were sliced too thick Main: Salmon: Yuck, the sauce was horrible, but the fish was good. I couldn't eat the garnishes around it. Basically, I just ate the fish and nothing else. Filet Mignon--Pretty good. They give you chopsticks to eat steak. Good thing the steak was pre-sliced. I still asked for a fork! DESSSERT WAS the best part of the meal!!!! We both agreed too! Banana Bignet! Delish! I was not used to Asia SF Bignet, but it was still delicious! Fried banana in eggroll "skin" with a scoop of Vanilla Ice cream, drizzle in caramel sauce! Molten chocolate cake: Yum! get this if you love chocolate. I like how they put caramel sauce on my ice cream!

I have had many good times at Velvet Room. This place is small, but still has an adequate amount of space for dancing. The decor is extremely well put together. The bartenders are fantastic but I could do without the go-go dancers who spend most of the night text messaging on their cell phones. I have always gone on Saturday nights and the DJ plays a good range of music. If you can afford to be sure to get a private booth area with bottle service.

Fun place with decent music. However, went on a Saturday and it was way too overcrowded, and the crowd wasn't dancing much the whole night. I think there are definitely better places to go, or go on a weekday.
