He spilled more booze than actually went into the glasses and it took 10 minutes for him to serve me, even though he served every one else to both sides of me. Not worth it.

Unless it is and I've just failed to notice...but either way, don't whore yourself! It's degrading, illegal and people won't pay for it here because it's not real! Because if it really was, the owners would probably choose a less conspicuous name and call it, "No Sex Sold Here.(Or Anything Illegal for that Matter)." Something to that effect. Not that I have any experience operating or managing bordellos or brothels or what have you... On the real, Bordello is exactly what a bordello should look and feel like. In downtown LA. Sans whores. Dim but red lights, black chandeliers, boudouir-like rooms, portraits of naked Victorian women -- the whole shebang. Prices are OK for downtown LA; $6 beers, $7 well and $10 valet parking. If you're there live music on Fridays, $10 cover. If you want to avoid valet parking, show up early before they decide to orange-cone all the street parking. If you can help it, avoid the grilled chicken skewers. I rarely do bar food, but a friend ordered them out of starvation. I found them to be over-priced and underwhelming. The people and the over-all French bordello-like feel...not bad! If given another opportunity to go, I'll definitely say OUI OUI!
by Tamera Steinmeyer on Other reviewers have hit all the pertinent details for Carman's. It's small, fun, penis-full, the food is amazing and not for the picky/wimpy/otherwise boring. Go and eat what a really talented and creative chef wants to feed you. You'll be happy. And full. And jealous of Carman's legs and ability to cook all day in high-heeled mules. xo.
