Big venue. Nice looking space (despite all the cheesey Iguanas everywhere). Unfortunately, their Thurs afterwork/nighttime party was dead. I've heard about this icon for a long time and have only gone once before for a free salsa lesson with a date. I'd def go again, but I wouldnt go out of my way for it.

Avalon is definitely a favorite spot of mine!  If you're a fan of electro-house music then this is the club for you because they spin sick electro beats all weekend long!  Friday nights are 18&over and it is a good night to see big names like Starkillers, Oakenfold, Jokers of the Scene, etc.  Saturday's are 21&over and i recently heard on "power tools" that they do the Heist club on sunday's. the cover charge can range anywhere from free (for 21 and over before 11pm) to as much as $25.  the club itself is gorgeous both inside and out, love the vintage style architecture.  drink prices aren't anything out of the ordinary for hollywood (i think i paid $15 for a good AMF).  parking is anywhere from $10-$20 and the lot is adjacent to the club and there is also plenty of parking across the street and around the club as well.  i've been to Avalon at least 10 times and i have yet to be disappointed.

Saturday's are BEST! I Prefer going to this small lilttle Lower East Side bar lounge than the big swank clubs or lounges of Chelsea and/or the Meat Packing District. Down to earth people, low price bar, best dj for Hip Hop, R&B, and Reggae, Beautiful array of people, and friendly Bouncers. What more would you want?
