by Joanna L. on My friends and I inevitably end up here at least one night a weekend--usually Friday. It's fun once you've had a few shots of SoCo Lime. The crowd can get old though, and is an odd mix of gym rats in graphic tees and good old boys in loafers and polos. On the plus side, East Andrews is large and perfect for primetime people watching, especially in the small patio and fountain areas. If you're in the mood to go home with someone, East Andrews is a pretty safe bet. The smaller patio usually has live music (mostly covers played by a man with long hair and typically clad in a Braves jersey), while the indoor atrium plays Top 40 over the speaker system. If you're lucky, you'll witness a bar-wide sing-along to the occasional country song.
by Jimmy N. on The pictures are deceiving. It looked way nicer in pictures than in person. Well, maybe its a different atmosphere for dinner. Only came here for drinks. Venue: Eh... It's different, but not my style. Bartenders: No comment. Beds: Pretty cool. Upstairs: Was whatever. Doubt I'll come here again for drinks unless something special is going on. Kinda wanna try the food though.
by Hal Courrege on I have had some really great experiences at Loca Luna and some really horrible ones. I guess that means I would have to say that Loca Luna has become very inconsistent. Here's the good: It is a fun and lively place which handles groups very well. The music and dancing are great. The food can sometimes be good. They have bottomless sangria on Sundays for $10. Here's the bad: I almost always encounter attitude from the hostess even when I am arriving promptly for a reservation. And, even when I arrive promptly for my reservation, I usually have to wait 20 minutes or so (and when it is crowded, there is not a really great place to wait). The food is wildly inconsistent. Sometimes it has been fresh and hot and flavorful, other times it has been overcooked, a bit foul-tasting, and just "off". The last time I was there, I could not eat the food - it was that bad. I am actually very sad to say that Loca Luna is not as good as it used to be - I really used to love it. For a bar/club/entertainment outing, I do agree that it is still pretty fun. The sangria is awfully good. But, the food is just not very good.
