by Bob Bevis on For quite a long time I've wanted to come here and when my boy's cousin invited us up to Yoshi's I was really excited. I had no idea where we were going, so it was a surprise and I loved it. The place: The restaurant is lovely, upscale and modern. Everything felt well maintained and I love the clean lines and comfortable setting. In the evening the made dining area becomes a dance spot and provides a fair amount of room. The actual room for the show was fairly spacious but standing room only for the show really. And in heals my feet really didn't want to be standing. My fault! Food and Drink: They had a lovely but not extensive wine list. I had a really great dry white wine. We all shared the prawns and a roll. The fish was very fresh, the flavors blended perfectly and the prawns were cooked to perfection and oh so juicy and good! The service here, while hard to get the attention of, when had was friendly, attentive, informative and good. Dancing: It was a Saturday and the dance floor did have a DJ later, but not too many people were dancing so it felt empty and odd. The music was ok but not great. Swaying the big show room though was fun, feeling the wave of energy created from the band was great. Bars: Upstairs is a great little lounge, swanky and provides a neat overview of the place. Great place to chat and gets quite crowded later as the evening progresses. The bartenders were good, friendly with the pours and nice in general. A few notes keep this place from being great, but I had a nice time and I was totally happy to finally check out this place.
by jacquelyne m. on kinda pricey for the short not too stiff drinks, not much room to sit, just dance floor took a picture in the photo booth but they flash to fast outside on display so didn't get to see them, but the others where fun to watch.
