On any given night from Wednesday to Saturday, you will see many Korean cowboys and Indians outside of this Koreatown rodeo.  Cowboys trying to lasso up the cowgirls and the Indians trying to keep their Pocahonti from the grips of the oncoming rush of cowboys.  For those of you who are not awares, K-Town cowboys are Korean Americans and K-Town Indians are Koreans from Korea otherwise known as fobs (fresh off the boat).  Typically cowgirls get with the cowboys while the Pocahonti get with either Indians or cowboys.  As cowboys are growing more dominant with their dual language ability in Engrish and Korean and a healthier dose of American and Korean red meat refined by sculpting sessions at Equinox, it is no surprise that K-Town showdowns can happen at any time. And what more perfect place to have said showdowns than at Third Floor Cafe where you will literally see 99.9% Koreans all the time.  With the overpriced drinks and food, you really can't beat it.  On a slightly more serious note, the best thing about the place is the Happy Hour specials where you can eat as much fried chicken, dong katsu and ddukboki (spicy ricecake) and drink as much draft light beer and red and/or white wine as you please.  Of course, the more you consume the less you will be able to defend your Korean cowgirls and Pocahonti from nearby competition. Now, the only question I have is when real life Indians come here, what do you call them?

We had a bad experience here last night. They forgot one of our orders, bringing out 4 plates for 5 people. That did not seem to tip them off because we waited around for a few minutes until the waiter came by to check on us. I told her we were just waiting on the pork chops, which clearly took her by surprise. Told that pork chops would take another 15-20 minutes to prepare, we changed the order to quail, which has a shorter prep time. Paid full price for it too, though we did get 1 free drink for the trouble. I thought the food was just average, and there wasn't a lot of it for the price. The service was slow and aloof all night. After receiving our desserts (which came with the meals we ordered or we wouldn't have bothered), we had to wait around for a few more minutes until we could flag someone down to bring us some forks, as they had taken our dinner forks up already. These are relatively minor complaints in the grand scheme of things, and at a lower priced and less pretentious restaurant, I wouldn't have been compelled to sign up for rateclubs to write a negative review. But when you go somewhere that is 'fancy', you expect a better experience. I did at least enjoy the Charlie Chaplin shorts that were playing on the front wall. The clips were hilarious and they really helped pass the time as we waited for our food.

I'm laughing at all of the 1 and 2 star reviews...You got to get some history on the V before you visit and before you give it 1-2 stars. This place is a landmark not only because they've been around so long, but because they've been serving the same greasy food for 50 years and now it has become a part of popular culture in ATL. If you want to eat at a place nearby that serves dogs, burgers, chili, o-rings, fries, and orange freezes like the V does, then GO ELSEWHERE. However, if you want a piece of American culture that hasn't changed since the 50's, bring yourself to the V and stand in line, order upon command, and eat what you're given with as many accouterments as you'd like. Try the freaking orange freeze too.
