by Wilson K. on It's like crashing some nerdy millionaire's party . I like drinking cocktails and staring at fish. I'd have a first date here -- there's always something to talk about. There are two crowds to the nightlife: the first one is more regular, normal kind of folks who look at all the exhibits and try to learn science things. If you stay later, though, the pre-party people show up, and they are as interesting as the exhibits. The bar is decent, and pricey, but average for SF if you pretend you are in a club. My one complaint: I wish they would change the planetarium show a little more frequently. Besides all that, the architect Renzo Piano's design is marvelous: his concept of the living building mirrors the sciences it houses. If this doesn't make any sense, you can go and enjoy yourself just the same, but for those of you who like architecture or think about space, the Academy is really a pleasure to wander.
by Guadalupe Mckinna on This is now my go to place for pizza in the city. Their pizza is not too saucey and has a verity of good combinations. If you dine in, they sell pizza by the slice so you can taste several different toppings. My favorite is the happy hour, Get a few glasses of that $3 wine and a couple of slices of pizza, you are all set for the the rest of the evening.
by Darnell Fermin on I love this place! I went on a Sunday night and it was great! The DJ was wonderful and I heard the food is also really good. The drinks were also free for the ladies and the bartender was great! I highly recommend Taboo 2 to anyone who is looking for great drinks, music and food. Oh yeah, on Sunday night the DJ plays more hip hop music and mixes in a little raggae. If you love to dance this is where you need to be, everyone dances and has a fantastic time!
