by Gregg K. on I would give the music 5 stars and the food 3 stars (maybe even 2). The music is the reason to come here! I've only been once, but plan on coming back after seeing the George Lacson Project. They are a very talented jazz/funk band that gave the crowd a "little ham and eggs comin' at you"! All members performed great solo pieces, and the sax was killin it. They also had a few vocalists join for a few songs (Malcom Marshall was one), and those were all good songs. We ordered the tuna steak and a pasta dish that both sounded good. The tuna was extremely salty, and the pasta was just meh. It was served with tomatoes and eggplant, but the eggplant did not have a good texture and was cold. Other than that the drinks were decent.
by Minerva Epler on I went to the Mansion on Xmas eve and it was OK. Way too many guys there, $20 cover, and very expensive drinks. I ordered Jack on the rocks and they gave me a small dixie cup and charged me $14. WTF? At least give me a nice scotch glass... We waited in line for about 20 mins, seems like if you know the door guy you can pretty much get in which pretty much defeats the purpose of standing in line. Once inside, about 65% of the dance area is VIP and is blocked off, so lesser mortals must deal with the edges of the dance area. The DJ was excellent however as I would have expected in a city of this caliber. It was a decent experience but I'm pretty sure I will not be going back.
