meh. the music was great, but it was tooooo crowded. like, ridiculous. i must have said about ten times last night that it is "time to go". but us girls held our ground and stuck it through. i don't know if it was expensive or not because all my girlfriend's fronted their broke ass friend. yay! i would highly suggest to get on the guestlist, get there at like 10 and take over the place! it also looks like it would be a lot of fun to get a private table their too.

The last time I went dancing was almost a year ago so when friends said I should go with them to the Salted party on Saturday, I figured what the hell. The friends (Kristina A. and Aaron V.) smartly suggested I get a presale ticket, saving myself $8 whole dollars (which is a lot to a poor gymnastics teacher like me) off the after-11-pm $20 cover. Since it was pouring all night I was wearing a coat and hoodie and when I went to the coat check guy I fully expected him to, as most every club on the east coast did, charge me separately for both.  I hopefully asked him if it was okay to check the two pieces together, and he said, 'No problem!' I smiled widely, explaining that on the east coast they were always dicks about coat checks and wouldn't even let you put two things on the same hanger so I spent my college years stuffing sweaters into coat sleeves to avoid paying twice.  This time when I went to pay, not only did he NOT charge me for two items, he didn't charge me at all.  Sweet! My friends and I got drinks first and then went over to the dance floor.  It was open without being empty and most of the people in the immediate area seemed happy to be dancing and had no hidden agendas, like mocking others, punching people in the face, or being huge slutbags.  Another striking difference between this coast and the other one (though I'm sure somewhere out there is a whole pile of west coast slutbags waiting to punch me in the face).  It put me in a really good mood to be around other people in similarly good moods and I smiled most of the night. I'm not a huge house music person but, like I said, it'd been a year so it didn't really matter.  I swayed side to side, watched some break dancing and wished I could learn it (gymnastics plus break-dancing=awesome) and on the way back from the bathroom found $5 that I used to buy myself another drink.  Also sweet. Mighty loses one star for the absolutely horrific state of the bathroom by the end of the night (well, the end of OUR night, which was around 2am).  It was not the dirtiest bathroom I have ever been in (that honor goes to a Fanueil Hall bar...I shudder to think back on it) but there was a good two inches of paper product covering the floors of each stall the last time I went in.  If you're going to be open from, what, 10pm to 4am, you should *probably* think about hiring someone to clean the bathrooms occasionally. Still, free coat check, found money, and happy dancing people made my first dancing trip in a year pretty decent overall.

File this one under Generic Gay Bar.  Usually attracts a younger crowd of generic gay boys.  I'll go because I live across the street from it.  However, the last time I was there, I got too drunk and FELL.  Oh my gosh.  Falling in a bar is the worst thing you can do...
