by Grace C. on There aren't many clubs that I'll frequent and be a regular at other than XS and Jet in Vegas... Most in LA I'll go to just to check out the hype and see what all the fuss is about, but after checking out the rest of the scene, I always find myself back at Boulevard... I can say I've been here at least 10 times already and I always have a great time here! Some of the reasons why: 1. Nice bouncers who aren't on power trips 2. Reasonably priced drinks (keep in mind, it's Hollywood...) 3. Huuuuge venue and outdoor patio with fireplace 4. Tables around the dance floor if you wanna be where the action's at or tables upstairs for a little more seclusion and privacy 5. AYCE chocolate covered strawberries and tacos!!! 6. Go go dancers who can ACTUALLY dance. THANK YOU. 7. Diverse crowd 8. Great music Thank you Boulevard 3 for all of the above.

The decor was garish but interesting -- feels a bit like you're in a Dia de los Muertos-themed videogame, if that makes any sense. But this place gets its 5 stars for really excellent customer service. I stupidly left my cellphone in the restaurant on a Saturday night, and by the time it turned up on Sunday I had left town (I live in San Francisco). I had no idea how I was going to get it back -- I had been in L.A. just for a weekend and have no friends nearby who could pick it up. But Velvet Margarita's day manager, Sydney, could not have been more helpful -- she was super-nice when I spoke to her, took my cellphone to the post office that same day and overnighted it to me, and didn't even charge me for the postage! It was so nice of her -- and very unexpected given my other experiences with customer "service" in Hollywood.
by Karren Murilla on Yum - so delicious! It is small, dark, and loud (when it is crowded) but very tasty. If you're a veggie, I recommend that you try the ginger crusted tofu. (Even if you're not, it is very good and worth a shot!) The best way to eat here is to go with a couple of friends, order a bunch of dishes to share, and dig in!
