I usually prefer hole in the wall places where I had the business owner a small amount of cash and they usually give me something greasy, heavy, and delicious in return. Although, I understand the intrigue of fine dining, I can easily say that my bank account does not allow it to be a regular occurrence.  But you do have to treat yourself once in a while. Very trendy restaurant with a very "wavy" theme.  Exceptional service.  I went with the $120 Omakase option which is where you give the chef freedom to make whatever to his pleasing.  It's to let him open up his full set of tools and knowledge to make you a 7-8 course meal.  It changes every time, so it may never be the same again. What did I get in my 8 courses? -Tuna Tartar -Oysters -Seared fish in hot oil -Shrimp/Fish salad -Passion Fruit Soda -Kobe braised rib -Lobster -Sushi -Cake I wish I could describe in detail what each dish contained, but all I can say is that it was the closest thing to an Iron Chef experience as you can get.... Oh and Morimoto makes his own beer.  In partnership with Rogue Brewing company, his beers are very good.  But at $22/bottle, I swung by my favorite microbrew beer store and picked up a bottle of his Sobe Ale for $7.

Ok so this is a tough one for me. I have been here a few times. I always have fun. Once was for Drakes afterparty,  Once was to see Lloyd (the R&B singer preform). and once for a friends bday. well........One time I went i was livid because the flippin lady bartender on the first floor jipped me out of my change. I gave her a 10 she never came back. i beleive I got a beer which was 6 dollars. NO heffer I was NOT leaving you a 4 dollar tip for your horrible service. I tried to argue calmly with her but she shrugged her shoulders and walked off. Anyways, THEN at the Lloyd party, I got attacked by a photographer who was hitting girls hands and shoving them out of the way to get a good shot. When the security came I tried to explain (once AGAIN calmly) why everyone was mad at him and he told me to shut the fuck up. hmmmmmmmm. THEN this HUGE avatar woman wanted to FIGHT me because i wouldnt, COULDNT move out of the way for her. it was chaos that night. the crowd was gutter trash that night. But I will admit that one time ive been the crowd was pleasantly mixed. anyways it all goes back to it all depends on whos promoting.......i suppose. I always end up going back there. its not bad ALL the time ;)

Eh...I'm not sure. I was told that this place was really cool on a Friday when there are DJs playing. But, alas on the Friday that I found myself in the ATX, there were some bands playing instead. When we were approaching the establishment, my friend "S" inquired as to when the bands might cease to play making way for the DJs. S: "When are the shit bands gonna be done? I don't want to pay $ to see this crap." Door guy: "I wouldn't exactly call them shit." S: "I would." Anyway, we went in anyway because we were sort of meeting some people. It was OKAY...kind of overly filled with what I call riff raff. For anyone who knows Chicago, it was kind of what you'd expect to see were you to go to Exit. But again, these types could have been here specifically to see this "band". I'd say that overall my favorite thing about Beauty Bar was seeing some girl I used to hate back from my days in Houston looking rather, emm, rotund. I liked that tons...though I don't see what it has to do w/ the bar. I'd give it a second chance but don't think it would be a regular hang out if I lived in ATX. The scene was a little too intense.
