On Sunday, January 16th my friend made our reservations via rateclubs/Open Table for four of us to have brunch at 10am.  We arrived for our reservation and enjoyed ourselves during our brunch.  There is an hour and half time limit at your table, once we reached that limit we were asked to finish our mimosas in the bar area.  We gathered our things and squeezed through the massive amounts of people packed into the small bar/lounge area.  There is no coat check at Lime so; I placed my wool coat on the lounge seat near me.  A few moments later, I looked down for my coat and it was gone.  I notified the staff and spoke to a man named Andrew who said, he was the manager.  I told Andrew that my jacket and scarf was missing.  He asked if I checked with the bar to see if someone turned it in?  I checked with the bar and they said no one turned in a coat.  I walked back over to Andrew and said, my jacket was not turned into the bar and I think it's stolen.  That was all he did, nothing else to help assist me in finding my coat.  My friend asked for his name and phone number so, we could call and find out if someone returned the coat later.  That evening I called the number Andrew gave us and it was the wrong number.  I tried calling the restaurant over the next couple of days, no one answered and the voicemail was full.  I searched Lime's website for a contact person, email address, fax and there was no other contact information except to make reservations through Open Table. Thursday, January 20th I drove from the East Bay back to Lime to find out if my coat had been returned.  I described my coat to the bartender, she was hesitant to check their lost and found.  She came back and said, my coat was not there and that people's things get stolen on Saturdays and Sundays all the time at Lime.  Then, I asked to speak to the manager or owner of Lime to ask for reimbursement of my coat.  She told me that the owner and manager were not there and she had no way to reach them.  I asked if there were an emergency what would she do?  She said, I would call Andrew then, the manager and owner next.  I replied, so you do have their number and you need to get the owner on the phone.  A few moments later the owner walks out from the back room of the restaurant.  The bartender warns him that I have a complaint about my stolen coat. Greg introduced himself and said; I know this isn't going to be good.  I explained what happened on Sunday and that Lime was responsible for my stolen coat.  I said, you have a known theft problem at your restaurant and have not taken measures to protect the customer.  The restaurant was over capacity, there is no security to secure the restaurant and there is no coat check to ensure customer's items are safe.  In addition, he should reimburse me the "sale price" of my jacket and scarf at $142.  I am a repeat customer, I rateclubs and check-in at Lime, I bring them new business via referrals and I'm in the food industry.  I told Greg that I made reservations for 10 people on March 13th through Open Table to celebrate my birthday at Lime.  Greg responded that he did not feel responsible for the theft of my coat at his restaurant.  He asked for proof of how much I spent at Lime on Sunday and he wanted to verify my birthday reservation then, he would offer me a free meal.  After Greg checked my criteria he said, I can offer you $70 off your reservation for March 13th of 10 people.   I responded, he should give me credit of $142 equal value for my stolen coat.  He said no and I told him that he was being unreasonable and that was not a fair offer.  I asked Greg to cancel my Open Table reservation and that he should expect to here from my attorney next. Sincerely, La Wanda Smith

this little shack is my favorite place in all of atlanta...there's so much diversity here! i love that no matter which of my friends i invite, or what they're wearing almost all [the snobby ones are the exceptions] LOVE IT! they have a good hip-hop environment, a good tech/dance environment and EVERYONE there is there for one purpose: to have fun! i hate going out to a club just to watch people stunt...there's none of that at mjq. you can party with everyone from college students to college professors; you can sit, stand, break dance, or jive to a rhythm nowhere near that of the song that's being played, and no one will look at you any differently. all around, this place is just completely fucking awesome

Hands down Lava is my favorite spot in ATL. I've had a handful of homies come thru to visit and I always take them there. I put my rep on the line by guranteeing them a good time and I have yet to be proven wrong. The best thing about Lava is the vibe. Its located in one of those converted houses off of Crescent Street in Midtown, so it has a very casually hip feel. There's 3 levels: the basement which is more like your typical high energy dance club, the first floor which is a chill bar scene, and then my favorite-- the second level lounge. The lounge is pseudo-VIP, but without all the pretention and exclusivity. Its more intimate with stylish banquests, its own bar and its own DJ. There's also a really nice outdoor patio. There's no designated dancefloor, but the music is so good (top 40, rap, old-school hip-hop) that everyone always ends up getting there groove on. The crowd is also really diverse which another big plus for me. I've been at least 5-10 times and I've never been disappointed. A guaranteed good time. Good-looking people and a feel good vibe: a winning combination. Fri or Sat are best.
