NYE is NYE, where ever you go! Arrived and had to wait about half hour before getting into for NYE. Strange thing was that they didn't even check ID's. Coat check was the usual $3 and they had a basement for VIP guests only and an upstairs that also needed to be VIP's. The place was quite packed and did they have some hors d'oeuvres before 11:30pm. You had to nudge your way to get to the front of the bar, which was open bar of course. The bartender I think was a newbie. He surprisingly did not dilute the drinks much with the mixers. Of course, while so many people were holding multiple drinks and dancing at the same time, the floor got pretty messy pretty quickly. Good NYE's!

Hiro was a dope venue. KILL BILL was filmed here baby! It was so awesome. The venue is really pretty large and impressive compared to a lot of the places in LA. Decor was excellent, filled with paper lanterns and genuine looking cherry blossom trees. They have a Chinese good luck dragon that spits out smoke every 15 minutes. They serve all the Asian beers here, Singha, Tsingdao, Asahi, Tiger, etc. Very very cool venue. I just kept thinking GoGo and Oren Ishi here. Too bad the music last night sucked. It was electronic. Let me paint you a picture... you just walked into Urban Outfitters.. all of a sudden all the lights go out and out comes these two douche bags on the turn table screaming to video game music... and there you have it. Thursday nights at Hiro. Maybe last night was a special night.
